What is a Tag-based Collection, and how do I start one?
March 16th, 2007
Tag-based collections are a great way to organize the memories that you have already uploaded, and to have new memories automatically included in a collection when they are tagged in the future.
Here is a common user case for a Tag-based Collection:
Max’s mom uploads pictures of Max to her Eachday account several days a week. That adds up to a lot of pictures as the days go by. Every so often, she notices a photo and thinks “Wow, he is growing so fast!” For these key photos that represent a stage in Max’s growth, Max’s mom decides to start a Tag-based Collection. She goes back through time and tags those key photos (or videos) with a word: “maxgrow”. Then she creates a Collection using that tag. Now, every photo that Max’s mom thinks represents a stage in his growth is now organized this new Collection. Further, every new memory she tags in the future with “maxgrow” will be included as well. Take a look at that collection: Max Growing
How to start a Tag-based Collection:
To start a Tag-based Collection, you first need to add tags to individual memories in your account. This is done in the Tags field underneath every individual memory in your account. Then, when you go to “Collections” (the button under your calendar) and select “Start a Tag-Based Collection”, you will see all of your tags listed. From here you may enter a new tag to start an empty collection, and all memories that you tag with this will be included in this collection in the future. Or, you may click a tag that is displayed here, and everything in your account with this tag will now be added to this new collection.
