What are Collections, and how do I start one?
March 16th, 2007
Collections are akin to albums, and they allow you to organize your memories beyond just dates. There are 2 ways to use Collections.
1. Tag-based Collections
Tag-based collections are a great way to organize the memories that you have already uploaded, and to have new memories automatically included in a collection when they are tagged in the future.
To start a Tag-based Collection, you first need to add tags to individual memories in your account. This is done in the Tags field underneath every individual memory in your account. Then, when you go to “Collections” (the button under your calendar) and select “Start a Tag-Based Collection”, you will see all of your tags listed. From here you may enter a new tag to start an empty collection, and all memories that you tag with this will be included in this collection in the future. Or, you may click a tag that is displayed here, and everything in your account with this tag will now be added to this new collection. More on Tag-based Collections here.
2. Regular Collections
Regular Collections allow you to upload new memories independent of date, or include memories that you have already uploaded by allowing you to drag and drop from a timeline of your account.
To make a regular Collection, go to “Collections” (the button under your calendar) and select “Upload a Collection”. From here you will name and describe this new Collection. Click “Start this Collection” and you will go to an empty Collection. From here you may either upload new memories (by clicking “Add to this Collection) or you may go to your timeline and use it to add memories that you have already uploaded to your account.
